Smarter, Better Habitats

Leap habitats are designed to best serve the animals they house. All habitats are designed to provide the correct amount of space, airflow, water retention and humidity for various species of reptiles and amphibians.

The Rainfall and Humidity Parameters

Leap’s programmable Mister and Fogger address the two important parameters of Rainfall (4) and Humidity (5).

Both amphibians and reptiles require rainfall and humidity; to drink, to maintain healthy lungs and skin, and for other important biological processes.

Misting (rainfall) facilitates the inclusion of tropical plants in your Leap habitat to create beautiful and natural environments for your animal and provides drinking water for your animals in the most natural way.

The Leap Mister and Fogger incorporate programable volume and timing functionality to tuner rainfall and humidity to the specific needs of your habitat and animals.

The Daylight and UV Parameters

Leap offers two types of lighting for use with your Leap habitats. LED white light that simulates visible sunlight and Fluorescent T5 UV (5% and 10%) fixtures and bulbs. White light is important for animals in creating a day and night cycle to promote a healthy circadian rhythm. It also incorporates light in the blue and red spectrum that plants use in photosynthesis.

UV light is critical for reptiles and amphibians to synthesize Vitamin D3 which is critical for the metabolism of calcium.

Living Earth

Living Earth is Leap’s bioactive substrate mix. This blend is comprised of milled sphagnum, fir bark, leaves, charcoal and coconut coir.
